DAVID HOLLAND :   S o l d i e r   &   A r c h i t e c t

David Holland earned his Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Interior Design with honors from Auburn University, where he focused on the use of high technology in the process of design as well as traditional means such as Beaux Arts style watercolor techniques and b&w photography.  He was also part of Auburn’s Rural Studio led by the late Samuel Mockbee, gaining first hand experience in construction and responsible design.  After internships in Atlanta and San Antonio involving large scale commercial projects, David spent several years at a small architectural firm focused on high-end residential design.  There he was the principle designer for several new and renovated homes, ranging from classical to contemporary.  It was this experience, coupled with David’s interest in environmentally responsible design, that led him to begin David Holland Architect.

David is also a decorated combat veteran from his 22+ years of military experience in Special Forces. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Combat Medic badge for his service in Afghanistan.  His experience in Special Forces has taken him to countries all over the world.  He spent a year in Iraq and was involved in the recovery efforts during Hurricane Katrina.  He is still a member of Special Forces as a Warrant Officer.

David Holland is a Nationally Certified Architect, registered in the states of Texas and Alabama.  He and his wife Natalie, and three daughters live in San Antonio, Texas.
